Denise Romano Bright

Denise is a resident of Bucks County, PA.  She holds an Associates Degree in Fine arts from Montgomery County Community College and a Certificate in Photographic Media Specialist from Antonelli Institute of Art & Photography, which was the oldest Photography College in America.

     She is a member of The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, a worldwide organization that preserves the art and science of photography.  The RPS awarded Denise Licentiateship in June 2000, which is the first of three levels of Distinction.  She is also a member of The Plastic Club & Gallery in Philadelphia, PA;  ArtCounts Artist Group, Phoenixville, PA and ArtFusion 19464 in Pottstown, PA.

     Denise has been exhibiting her Fine Art, Craft and Photography for over 45 years.  She has won numerous awards for her Photography as well as Printmaking and Handmade Pottery.

     Past exhibitions include:  Solo exhibitions at John James Audubon Center Gallery, Audubon, PA and the former Phoenix Village Art Center & Gallery, Phoenixville, PA.  Other exhibitions include The Royal Photographic Society’s Juried Members exhibitions; The Woodmere Art Museum’s Juried and Members exhibitions; The Philadelphia Sketch Club’s Juried exhibitions; The Plastic Club Gallery’s various monthly exhibitions; ArtFusion19464 Juried exhibits; Manayunk Arts Festival Philadelphia, PA and the former Phoenix Village Art Center & Gallery’s exhibitions, Phoenixville, PA.

     Her work experience includes, being a Designer/Draftswoman of Kitchens & Homes for the former, Ridge Homes in Conshohocken, PA  1973-1975;  Working for Florists before opening her own Floral Shop in Worcester, PA  1980-1989;  working as Graphic Artist for The Pennridge School District in Perkasie, PA  1989-1992 and then working Freelance in Art & Photography.  Denise has worked as Artist in Residence for Mural Projects for Sellersville Elementary, Pennridge Senior High School and South Jr. High School, for Pennridge School District, Perkasie, PA.  Other schools include: Murray Avenue School in Huntington Valley, PA and Evans Elementary School, Limerick, PA who also wished to have murals painted.  She has also taught Art, Crafts and Photography for the former Phoenix Village Art Center’s Summer and after school classes and The 4-H Center’s Summer Art Classes. Most recently she has taught Book Arts classes for ArtFusion19464 in Pottstown, PA.

     Denise teaches part-time, Art, Craft and Photography classes.

To portray the oscillating strain and necessity of relationships (with others and ourself) figures are embedded in environments that reflect their inner landscape: ever-changing, ultimately unknowable, and inwardly-focused. Compositional decisions such as tiny slivers of sky and converging architectural lines create visual tension in the suggested narratives of these pieces.
