Resist! - Art Of The Counterculture 2026
“Are You New Here?”
Our very first show in January 2025 focused on protest art in the hope of countering the rise of right-wing extremism around the globe and the decline of human empathy. It’s a little over a year later and it appears we didn’t fix everything yet. So we go once more into the breach undeterred.
In the 1960’s, the counterculture was a reaction to conservative notions of freedom and patriotism. What constitutes the counterculture in 2026? In the post-Roe, post-COVID era of ICE patrols and the ubiquity of AI is it really different? That’s what we’re exploring with this exhibition. What does resistance and counterculture mean to you? As our first internet comment said: “What are you even resisting?”
Our mission has always been to showcase art that elicits strong emotions from viewers to create human connection through art, and that will still guide the selections we make to fill the show. So keep that in mind when choosing your selections.
All mediums and styles considered. We are a contemporary/avant-garde gallery though, so we’ll view your submissions through that lens.
No size restrictions as long as the artist can deliver the work. All physical work must be for sale.
3D, performance-based, and digital works are also accepted for consideration and encouraged. If performance-based works are accepted for exhibition, the gallery will work with the artist to create an opportunity to compensate for the performance.
