Returns & Defective Items Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2025

At Anno Artem, every piece is handled with care. We currently sell merchandise and fine art prints only. Because of the unique and often limited nature of these items, all sales are final. We only accept returns or exchanges for defective or damaged merchandise or prints.

What qualifies as “defective”

A product is considered defective if it arrives with a manufacturing flaw, print/production error, or damage incurred in transit that materially affects its function or presentation. Examples include:

  • Misprints, banding, ink smudges, or significant color shifts from the edition master

  • Creased, torn, dented, or water-damaged prints (including edge crush from transit)

  • Broken frames or cracked acrylic/glass (for framed prints)

  • Apparel or merch with faulty stitching, holes, broken zippers, misapplied graphics, or incorrect labeled size

  • Wrong item shipped

Normal variations—such as slight color differences between your screen and the physical print, paper texture/fiber inclusions, or minor tolerances in garment sizing—are not considered defects.

Report a defect (timeline & documentation)

  • Notify us within 7 days of delivery or in-person pickup.

  • Provide your order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos of the defect and packaging (including any visible carrier damage).

  • You can reach us through the Contact page on our website or by replying to your order confirmation email.

If reported after 7 days, we may be unable to accommodate a return or replacement.

Exchanges (non-defective)

We do not offer exchanges for size, color, or preference. If an item is defective, we will repair, replace, or refund once verified.

Resolution options

Once we verify the defect, we will offer one of the following:

  1. Replacement of the same item (if available)

  2. Repair (when feasible)

  3. Refund to your original payment method if a replacement/repair isn’t possible

Shipping costs for approved defective returns or exchanges are covered by Anno Artem.

How returns work (for approved cases)

  1. We’ll issue a Return Authorization (RA) and a prepaid shipping label (if your order was shipped).

  2. Repack the item securely in the original packaging (or equivalent protective materials). For prints, avoid touching the image surface; return in the original sleeve/tube/flat pack with corner protectors when applicable. Include any certificates or accessories.

  3. Ship within 14 days of receiving your RA. Items returned without an RA may be refused.

Items not eligible for return

  • Non-defective items (buyer’s remorse, color/scale mismatch, or preference-based returns)

  • Apparel sizing/fit issues when the item matches the labeled size specs

  • Custom, made-to-order, or limited edition prints/merch (unless defective)

  • Final sale or clearance items (unless defective)

  • Gift cards and digital products

Damaged in transit

If your package shows visible carrier damage on arrival, please:

  • Photograph the outer box/tube, inner packaging, and the item before unboxing further

  • Retain all packaging until your claim is resolved

  • Contact us within 7 days so we can initiate a carrier claim and expedite your replacement/refund

Proof of purchase

Please have your order confirmation, receipt, or gift receipt. For gifts, we can work with the gift recipient using a gift receipt or the purchaser’s order number.
