Heather Raquel Phillips (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist, independent curator, and educator based in Philadelphia. Phillips’ practice is grounded in lens-based methodologies. Working across photography, moving image, text-based textiles, and installation, Phillips critically investigates systems of power as they relate to personal autonomy, sexuality, deviance, and transgression. Their work uses embodied and archival strategies to challenge dominant narratives and disrupt normative structures. Leather pelt, vinyl lettering, copper pole and chain link + hardware.
