Acrylic On Canvas - Losing Myself” is symbolic to how addiction can slowly chisel away at a person’s inner energy, pushing them past boundaries they never thought they’d cross. While the colorful smoke seems like a sweet invitation from a habit that offers pleasure, it is a deeper symbol of how the habit slowly depletes the subject of her inner energy and joy. Over time, she will become an empty vessel of herself haunted only by the memories of who she once was. Aside from the deeper meaning, this piece is also the first time I played with sculpting acrylic to push past the boundary of the canvas and my own skills as an artist.
