Home and community is a goal that humans reach for all of our lives. It can become all-consuming, and may come at a very high cost. But ultimately, both are temporary. This body of work explores the passage of time and lives within the context of making a “home”. What was the driving force behind a particular type of shelter? What did the people who dwelled there endure in order to gain and hold onto it? And why was it ultimately abandoned? These pieces are created in mixed media, from wood and paint, to hand crafted papers, and recycled materials. Will someone find them - or fragments of them - amidst the ruins of a “home” some day?
